Kurt carved his Poké Balls from Apricorns, one at a time. This is the Love Ball made real: a die-cast shell under high-gloss lacquer, heavy in the palm, with a front button that lights the moment your hand comes near it.
The design
The shell is struck in die-cast metal and finished in high-gloss lacquer, so it carries actual weight in the hand. Nothing about it reads as a toy. It measures nearly 3 inches (75 mm) across, matched to the Love Ball’s real size within the world of Pokémon.
Touch- and proximity-sensing technology drives the front button. It illuminates as motion passes nearby, brightens the moment you make contact, and pressing it runs a full Pokémon-catching light sequence.
Out of Johto
The Love Ball was introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, one of the Apricorn Poké Balls made by Kurt. In a Trainer’s hands it makes Pokémon of the opposite gender to your own easier to catch.
Display
It arrives in an illuminated matte black display case with a polished Poké Ball icon set into the lid, so the ball stays lit on the shelf rather than sitting dark. A polished stainless steel display ring is hidden in the base of the case for when you would rather show the Love Ball on its own.

Care
Wipe the lacquer with a dry microfibre cloth. Skip solvents and household cleaners — they dull the gloss and there is no bringing it back. Keep it out of direct sunlight, and pull the batteries if it is going into storage for a long stretch.
